Happy Easter 2026
It's Easter and time for a hunt. You are looking for an unusual container hidden amonst the juniper and sagebrush. Enjoy this Easter children's story with a moral.

Out in the juniper and pine forests east of Bend, two geocaching partners—Totes Krakra and Captain Ferd Berful—followed their GPS to a very unusual cache. “Today,” Ferd announced, holding up his GPS, “we find something BIG.”
“Bigger than your last ‘shortcut’?” Totes teased. As they got close to GZ they began to search, they searched under logs… inside hollow stumps… behind rocks. Then Totes froze. “Uh… Ferd? Come here, will ya?" Sitting on the ground, in a soft nest of pine needles and juniper berries, something was glowing. Not an ammo can. Not a lock-and-lock.
Instead of a container, they found a glowing golden egg resting in a nest. Just then, a goose waddled up, sat down, and plop!—laid another golden egg right in front of them. Totes’ eyes grew wide. Ferd whispered, “Best cache ever.” They came back the next day… and the next… and each time there was one new golden egg waiting. Soon Ferd started thinking big. “What if we could get ALL the eggs at once?” he said. Totes shook her head. “No! That sounds like trouble.” They both looked at the goose, who gave a quiet honk as if to say, be careful what you ask for. After a long pause, Ferd sighed. “Yeah… let’s not mess this up.” So they chose to take just one egg at a time and leave the goose happy and safe.
Before long, they shared the secret (carefully!) with a few friends, and the place became their favorite adventure spot—not just for the golden eggs, but for the laughter, stories, and time together. Ferd smiled one evening and said, “Turns out the best treasure wasn’t the gold.” Totes nodded. “It was not being greedy.” Some treasures aren’t meant to be taken all at once. Some are meant to be enjoyed… a little at a time. Because when you chase the more and faster…you might lose what made it special in the first place. 🪿✨
People didn’t just come for the egg. They came for the adventure. The laughter. The stories.T he togetherness . “You know,” he said, “this might be the best cache we’ve ever found.”
The goose gave a happy little honk.
Moral of the story:
Be patient and thankful—when you try to take too much, you might lose everything.
