Geocache Description:

How often have you found unique caches that show the creativity of the cacher who hid them?  They can be just about any unusual design.  They intrigue the finders and often result in favorite points.  You will soon be able to participate in an event that will help you create your own cache!

Every cache begins with a container. It can be simple or extremely complex. The choice is yours. Let’s use our creativity to create a cache that others will want for themselves. Then we can swap them at this event. Everyone can benefit from this event. Even people who have never hidden a cache will get help from many experienced cachers.

At this event, those who wish to participate may bring something that can be made into a cache.  This is an effort to avoid using pill bottles and peanut butter jars as containers.  Bring your container and trade it for someone else’s.  Then take the container home and create your own cache!  As a guide, these containers should be big enough to hold a bison tube or a pill bottle.

You may enjoy this event whether you have hidden a single cache or hundreds.  We will have years of geocaching experience at this event.  We will discuss the best types of containers, the minimum items required in a cache, hiding and publishing the cache, and any other questions people may have.

Attendance at this Maker Magic event will earn you a souvenir. You do not need to build a cache to earn the souvenir.

The Riderwood Geocachers are sponsoring this event.  The people who attend this event have done just about everything in geocaching.  They’re valuable for suggestions, tips, and anything else anyone may wish to know.  All will benefit from this event.

As always, you may bring your suggestions for others about caching, offer trackables, and all the other things that make these events so much fun!

Join us at Panera Bread, 12285 Tech Road, Silver Spring, MD.  You aren’t required to buy anything to attend, but their food is very good!
