Newbury #160 - Newbury Methodist Church (Officially Known as Church Micro 15747...Newbury - Methodist)

About this church
Newbury Methodist Church is a welcoming community hub located on Northbrook Street in the heart of Newbury. Part of the Berkshire & Hampshire Borders Circuit, the church is known for its historic Grade II* listed building and its active role in local outreach.
History & Architecture
Built in 1837–38, the church is an early example of Methodist architecture in the Gothic style, designed to resemble an Anglican church. It features a largely unaltered Victorian interior with galleries supported by cast-iron columns. It replaced an earlier chapel on the same site that dated back to 1804.
