Geocache Description:

We Discover, We Grow

Ynysdawela By A Girl Guide

With the help of my parents and the permission of Camarthenshire County Council, I have placed a new cache at Ynysdawela Nature Reserve as part of my Girlguiding Geocaching Badge.

Ynysdawela Nature Reserve is located in Brynamman and is a short walk from the centre of the town.

There are several ways into the nature reserve but we suggest parking on Station Road and beginning your walk from these coordinates:

N 51° 48.558′ W 3° 52.130′

From here, follow the route of the old Amman Valley Railway which runs along the edge of the rugby pitch at Brynamman R.F.C. Go along the cycle track for a short distance until you come to a narrow footbridge over the river. Cross the river then bear left and you will soon come to the noticeboard at the entrance to the nature reserve.

Continue on the main path until you come to the huts by the pond, and from here you can pick up the signposted riverside walk. Go down the hill, and then use your GPS, the spoiler image or the hint to help you find the cache.

The cache is a small clip-lock container with enough room for a few small swappable items. There is a pencil and a sharpener to sign the logbook and there is also a handmade resin keyring for the first to find (FTF).

We hope you enjoy this cache and exploring the rest of Ynysdawela Nature Reserve.
