Hi, we are Kala and Josh.
I (Kala) am one of Josh's staff, and one of our favourite things to do together is to Geocache.
Josh would really love to create a Geoching event to meet others and have the opportunity to Geocache with some of them as well.
Josh and I are planning to get together at 1:30pm on Thursday April 30th, 2026. We would like to meet at Lakeview Park, off of Lakeview Avenue, in Orillia, Ontario. There is free street parking along the side of the park. We will bring a case of water to share, and really would just like to get to know some other Geocachers, newbies are welcome to come and hang out as well. Feel free to bring your own snacks
Josh and I plan to hide some unofficial Caches within the park just so we can have a fun game and have a hunt together.
After all the unofficial caches are found, we would like to as a group decide where to hide an official one within that park. Then we can as a group submit Josh and I's first placed cache.
Feel feel to bring trackables to trade etc. with each other, though Josh and I are new to the other perks of Geocaching beyond the traditional cache, so we don't really have swag or tokens etc. but we do have a few trackables that maybe someone could help us figure out.
After our small event in Orillia, ON, weather dependant we invite anyone interested on a hike to go find some caches on a trail of our choosing at the time (there will likely be driving involved for this part).

Josh and I are only together on weekdays, but if this event goes successfully, Josh will be able to plan other events, potentially on some weekends as we know that's when more people are available.
