古代の松連寺道は、当時松連寺と呼ばれていた寺院へと続いていた。この寺院は明治時代に廃寺となり、現在は京王百草園（または「百草園」）となっています。
旅人を守るため、道沿いには多くの地蔵像が建てられていた。この地蔵は駐車中の車を守ります。
The ancient Matsurenji Road went to what was then called Matsurenji Temple. The temple was abolished in the Meiji Era and is now Keiō Mogusaen Garden (or Hyakusōen).
There were many jizō statues along the road to protect travellers. This jizō protects parked cars.
