A geocache in Harwood Preserve, placed with permission of the Aspetuck Land Trust.
森林浴, anglicized as Shinrin-yoku, literally translates to "forest bathing" or "taking in the forest atmosphere". Coined by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries in 1982, it refers to the therapeutic practice of spending time in nature to promote health and reduce stress through sensory engagement.
I had a different theme in mind before I came to place the container, but the tranquility here reminded me of this term. The 2 looped trails form an "8". I hope you find relaxation in this tucked-away preserve as I did.
Caching Notes:
- To access the preserve via the easement, please stay to the left of telephone pole (the right is a private driveway), and follow the signs to the trail.
- Please search during daylight hours.
- Cache is within a few steps of the trail, no need to veer off course.
- Please don't disturb any flora or fauna, CITO as you go!
