What better way to give back to your community than by hosting or attending a Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) Event in 2026?
CITOs are one of the many ways geocachers can help their local communities—and the planet—through geocaching.
Since 2002, more than 875,000 geocachers have attended over 50,000 CITO Events across 160 countries. That’s 50,000 opportunities to give back to your local community. Geocachers who attend a CITO Event during either CITO season will earn a corresponding seasonal CITO Souvenir. CITO Season 1: Sunday, March 1 through Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is a volunteer-powered organization that builds, maintains, and protects public trails. Together with our partners, we strive to ensure that the trails and natural areas we share are sustainable and accessible for all to enjoy for generations to come.
Dedicated in 1909 as the first component of the parklands administered by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, the Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey is about twelve miles long and half a mile wide, with 2,500 acres of wild Hudson River shorefront, uplands, and cliffs — just minutes from midtown Manhattan!
The Long Path is a 358-mile (as of 2026) long-distance hiking trail in New York State and New Jersey that stretches from the George Washington Bridge in New York City to the Village of Altamont near Albany, with ongoing efforts to extend it to the Adirondacks. Primarily marked with aqua-blue blazes, the trail links major scenic areas including the Palisades, Harriman State Park, the Shawangunk Ridge, and the Catskill Mountains.
