Geocache Description:

(EE)

Kaluri tee Haabneemes on ajalooliselt tihedalt põimunud S. M. Kirovi nimelise näidiskalurikolhoosiga.

  • Majanduslik fenomen: Kolhoosi juhtis aastatel 1955–1990 legendaarne Oskar Kuul.

Kaluri tee in Haabneeme is historically closely intertwined with the heyday of the S. M. Kirov model fishing collective farm. Kaluri tee was the heart of the collective farm, where its most important buildings and residential quarters were located.
Here is a short story and an overview of the development of this area:

The S. M. Kirov fishing collective farm was created in 1950 by the merger of four smaller fishing artels. Haabneeme became the center of the collective farm, and Kaluri tee became its main artery.
Economic phenomenon: The collective farm was led by the legendary Oskar Kuul in 1955–1990. Under his leadership, the Kirov collective farm became a "state within a state", known for its wealth and order.
Production and innovation: Fishing wasn't the only activity around Kaluri Tee. There were workshops there that produced canned goods, macaroni, protein bars, and even shampoo made from fish waste.
Once upon a time: Locals remember that strict rules prevailed on the collective farm grounds - for example, walking across the grass in a prohibited area could result in the loss of a financial reward.
