This is a bus stop cache, though, if you approach GZ in a few years without this knowledge, you may not even realize it is one. And there’s a reason for that: this bus stop technically isn’t supposed to exist. It is one of the weirdest stops in the entire system.
SW Trenton St / 35th Ave SW is a bus stop used by southbound RapidRide C Line and Route 21 trips only. Both routes continue down Trenton St before turning onto 25th Ave at Westwood Village, where both routes terminate. Yet, before March 28, 2026, this bus stop did not exist. RapidRide C Line makes an awkward maneuver to get here, turning left on 35th after Barton and then right onto Trenton, while Route 21 simply turns left onto Trenton off 35th as it is already traveling south on 35th.
However, usually the C Line is supposed to continue straight on Barton, while the 21 is supposed to turn left on Barton, both terminating at SW Barton St / 26th Ave SW. The reason for this change is construction occurring on the eastbound lanes of Barton St at Westwood Village, including where the usual bus stop is. Both routes are, as of the publishing of this cache, on long-term reroute due to this construction, and it is unclear when the typical routing will be restored.
The unusual nature of Stop 39904 makes it quite a special stop, basically acting as a “limited edition” bus stop. If you are from the future, this stop likely no longer exists, and none of this information matters to you. But, who knows, there is a good possibility the bus stop pole is still there, with a “BUS STOP CLOSED” sign covering it up.
The cache itself is located just across the street from the bus stop. It’s next to an alley, so be careful of oncoming cars. Use stealth if neighbors are walking by. If you are lucky, you might even see me get off at this stop, since it is very close to my house ;)
