Geocache Description:

This spot sits along what was once part of the lifeline of Akron—the railroad that helped build the town.
In the late 1800s, Akron grew at the crossing of early trails and expanding rail lines. The Erie Railroad depot, built in the 1880s, connected this small farming community to larger markets, moving grain, livestock, and people through town.
For decades, trains passed through regularly—bringing noise, movement, and opportunity. But as roads replaced rails, the tracks quieted… and the purpose of places like this slowly faded.
Now, the trains are gone. But something small remains.

🧩 The Find

Where iron once ran and people once waited, look where time didn’t quite take everything.

Not in motion…but where something still lingers, close to where it once mattered.
