CITO Across the World 2026

Um Dia. Muitas Comunidades. Um Mundo de Diferença.
Há pouco mais de dois anos, georeyna, uma geocacher de Houston no Texas (EUA), colocou uma questão simples: o que poderia acontecer se geocachers de todo o Texas se unissem num só dia para tornar as suas comunidades mais limpas? Com base nessa ideia, a Associação de Geocaching do Texas (TXGA) criou um evento chamado “CITO Across Texas”, em parceria com o Dia Mundial da Limpeza.
Geocachers de todo o Texas organizaram eventos de limpeza no terceiro sábado de setembro. Cada evento é organizado localmente, mas em conjunto passaram a fazer parte de algo muito maior. Assim nasceu o CITO Across Texas!
Os resultados têm sido notáveis. Durante 2024 e 2025:
- Mais de 50 eventos CITO foram realizados em todo o Texas;
- Mais de 700 voluntários participaram;
- Milhares de quilos de lixo foram removidos de parques, trilhos, cursos de água, bairros e outros espaços públicos.
Em 2026, queremos dar o próximo passo e convidar a comunidade mundial de geocachers para ajudar a limpar o mundo.
Imagine centenas ou até milhares de geocachers a trabalhar nas suas próprias comunidades no mesmo dia. Cada evento pode ser local, mas juntos, os nossos esforços podem criar um impacto verdadeiramente global.

Cache In Trash Out ® (CITO) é uma iniciativa ambiental apoiada pela comunidade mundial que pratica geocaching.
Desde 2002, que os geocachers dedicam-se a melhorar as zonas onde se pratica geocaching.
Através destas acções de voluntariado, ajudamos a preservar a beleza natural dos recursos ao ar livre.
Muitas vezes, as ações falam mais alto do que as palavras.
Todos juntos, produzimos um enorme impacto positivo na Natureza!
Além disso, também nos divertimos e convivemos enquanto limpamos.
* Este é o 10º CITO consecutivo realizado neste local. São cinco anos de eventos CITO, um por cada semestre.
Nota: Serão fornecidos sacos para o lixo e luvas descartáveis.

CITO Across the World 2026

One Day. Many Communities. A World of Difference.
A little over 2 years ago georeyna a geocacher in Houston, Texas (USA) asked a simple question - What could happen if geocachers around Texas came together on one day to make their communities cleaner? Based on that simple question, Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) created an event named CITO Across Texas in conjunction with World Cleanup Day.
Geocachers throughout Texas held cleanup events on the third Saturday in September. Each event is locally organized, but together they became part of something much bigger. CITO Across Texas was born!
The results have been tremendous. During 2024 and 2025:
- More than 50 CITO events were held across Texas.
- More than 700 volunteers participated.
- Thousands of pounds of trash were removed from parks, trails, waterways, neighborhoods, and other public spaces.
In 2026, we want to take the next step and we are inviting the worldwide community of geocachers to help clean up our game board.
Imagine hundreds or even thousands of geocachers working in their own communities on the same day. Every event may be local, but together our efforts can create a truly global impact.

Cache In Trash Out ® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the world geocaching community.
Since 2002, geocachers has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces.
Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of outdoor resources.
Actions often speak louder than words.
All together, we make an enormous positive impact in the Nature!
In addition, we also have fun and socialize while cleaning (win-win).
* This is the 10th consecutive CITO held at this location. That's five years of CITO events, one for each semester.
Note: Garbage bags and disposable gloves will be provided.
All together, we will clean-up the Praia Velha in Paço d'Arcos.
