Cinco de Mayo falls on a Taco Tuesday this year!
This rare convergence occurs four times every 28 years,
but not every seven years. Since the date advances one
day per year and two days on leap years, and leap years
occur in years divisible by 4, except for century years
(divisible by 100), which must also be divisible by 400
to be leap years, years repeat on a 6, 5, 6, 11 basis.
This means Cinco de Mayo fell on Taco Tuesday in 2009,
again six years later in 2015, again five years later in 2020,
again six years later – this year! – in 2026,
and not again for another 11 years until 2037!
