Join Geocaching SA for a CITO Season 1 cleanup on the Yorke Peninsula as we help tidy a well-loved stretch of coastline near Wallaroo.
Located along the foreshore just outside Wallaroo, this CITO brings us to a peaceful coastal reserve where sandy shoreline, low dunes, and coastal vegetation meet the Spencer Gulf. It’s a popular spot for locals, travellers, fishers, and geocachers alike, with easy access and sweeping sea views. Like many accessible beachside areas though, it also catches its fair share of windblown litter, washed-up debris, and the occasional leftovers from seaside visitors who should know better.
For CITO Season 1, we’ll be giving the foreshore a good clean-up, focusing on the shoreline, dunes, and surrounding reserve. Expect to collect the usual mix of cans, bottles, plastics, fishing line, bait packets, and whatever else has drifted in or been left behind.
Bring gloves, sturdy footwear, a hat, sunscreen, and water. Garbage bags will be supplied.
This is an easy-access cleanup suitable for all ages, with minimal walking and plenty of fresh sea air. A great chance to earn your CITO souvenir, enjoy the coast, and help keep this stretch of Yorke Peninsula shoreline looking the way it should. Clean, scenic, and slightly less decorated by human nonsense.
