Qiangbang Hutong (Front Qiangbang Hutong) is located in Chaoyangmen Subdistrict, Dongcheng District, Beijing, on the south side of Chaoyangmennei Street. The hutong runs in a winding pattern from north to south and east to west. It begins at Chaoyangmennei Street in the north, extends eastward to Chaoyangmen South Street, and has a शाख (side lane) in the south connecting to Lishi Hutong. The total length is 492 meters, with a width of 5 meters.
During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Sichengfang and was known as “Qiangbang Hutong.” In the Qing Dynasty, it fell under the jurisdiction of the Plain White Banner and was renamed “Front Qiangbang Hutong,” a name derived from its shape and location. The name continued to be used after the founding of the Republic of China. In 1965, during a citywide standardization of place names, Wanqing Bridge was incorporated into this hutong.
