Geocache Description:

Note time and day of the week since not my usual ones.

Phyllis Strret parking is VERY convenient.

Do not attempt to park on Edgewood.

GZ could be found in an additional way which is my favorite.  Hope you are   Rested    today.  If you are   Honestly    tired, there are picnic tables nearby.  This park is    Shaped   like a rectangle. ///

This is a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event.

Another play on words title. This one is for my baby sister.

The park is between Bartow Highway (98) and South Florida Avenue (37) (just north of Edgewood Drive) Lakeland, Florida.  There are caches and ALs not too far from this park. Robert Withrow (Robb) with lakelandgov.net approved this event. He stated, "we appreciate yall."

What:  CITO - Handley Park

Where: 1419 Phyllis St., Lakeland, FL

When:  WEDNESday, May 20, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM - in afternoon and mid-week

Why:  To enhance the beauty of this park

How

  • Mark will attend on the event
  • Sign the log book if you like that style.
  • Grab a bag or bring your own.  During my last CITO, many cachers preferred grocery bags over large bags.. We emptied them into a large bag and refilled as needed.
  • Grabbers will be available or you might want to bring your own. I refreshed my CITO bin from white to red and replaced broken grabbers.
  • Gather any trash around the park.
  • Bring it back to the GZ.
  • Sanitize your hands.  (Sanitizer will be available at the GZ.)
  • Pose for our group photo.  I try to take photos throughout the event also.
  • Log your attendance on the app or online.
  • Receive your smile.
  • CITO souvenir

Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is back for 2026!

What better way to give back to your community than by hosting or attending a Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) Event in 2026?

CITOs are one of the many ways geocachers can help their local communities—and the planet—through geocaching.

Since 2002, more than 875,000 geocachers have attended over 50,000 CITO Events across 160 countries. That’s 50,000 opportunities to give back to your local community. Geocachers who attend a CITO Event during either CITO season will earn a corresponding seasonal CITO Souvenir.

    The 2026 CITO dates:

  • CITO Season 1: Sunday, March 1 through Sunday, May 31, 2026.
  • CITO Season 2: Tuesday, September 1 through Monday, November 30, 2026.
  • Attend at least one CITO Event during either season to earn the CITO Season 1 or CITO Season 2 souvenir. Attend an Event during both seasons to earn both souvenirs.
