The invasion came fast, the kind that doesn’t knock. Boots, fire, shouting—everyone wanted something, and word had spread about the lizard king and his magic token. They said it could bend luck, maybe even time. That was enough to bring an army.

But they didn’t get far. There was a wall—just a brown wall, nothing flashy—but it stopped everything. Steel cracked against it. Fire died on it. Men who thought they were unstoppable just…weren’t. No one could explain it, which made it worse.

Inside, the lizard king didn’t panic. He never really does. He just watched, same as always, like he knew this would happen eventually. The token stayed with him, quiet but heavy with whatever power people believed it had.

The army left in pieces, and the stories got bigger on the way out. They still come, every now and then, thinking they’ll be the one to get through. But the wall hasn’t changed, and neither has he. The lizard king still resides behind his wall
