The 23rd Annual Nebraskache Picnic

Join us for the 2026 Nebraskache Picnic on Saturday, September 12th at the Fort Kearny State Recreation Area near Kearney, Nebraska. The day's festivities will begin at 11:30 AM. This year’s gathering will take place at the shelter near Campsite 69.

Nebraskache will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. This is a potluck-style event, so we ask that you bring a side dish or dessert to share with others in attendance. Nebraskache will provide tableware, plates, buns, and condiments.

After lunch, we'll present milestone awards (submit your milestone here!), give away door prizes, and enjoy time together sharing stories with fellow geocachers. There will be additional activities throughout the afternoon. Stay tuned for updates as plans are finalized!

We’ll reconvene in the evening at 7:30 P.M. for a campfire featuring cobbler and your best geo-stories.

Whether you are new to geocaching or a seasoned cacher, we invite you to join us for a day of fun - and quite possibly some geocaching! Not a Nebraskache member? No worries! Everyone is welcome to attend and take part in all the activities. You can become a member for free on the Nebraskache website.

Please post your “Will Attend” with the number in your group so we can plan food accordingly. Keep your eye out for updates and announcments as the event date gets closer. Not sure if you're attending yet? Add the event to your Geocaching watchlist to be notified of new announcements.

Heads up! A valid Nebraska State Park vehicle permit is required for entry to the recreation area. Daily and annual permits are available.
