To get the actual coordinates for this cache, you can turn in your completed icebreaker sheet at the 2026 CAM Picnic, or solve the following puzzle.

Participants in Cache Across Maryland (CAM) have surely encountered the state’s rich cultural and geographic diversity through its many municipalities. These cities, towns, and villages reflect Maryland’s history and regional character, from the small colonial port communities along the Chesapeake Bay to the suburban hubs surrounding Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Population wise, they range from Baltimore, with about 570,000 residents, to Port Tobacco Village (the location of a Virtual CAM cache this year), with just 18 residents. The land areas range from almost 81 square miles (Baltimore) to just 0.042 square miles (Brookview).

Maryland’s municipalities span the state’s three primary topographical regions: They stretch across the Atlantic Coastal Plain, with its sandy shoreline and marshlands; the rolling hills and mixed urban–agricultural landscape of the Piedmont Plateau; and the rugged, mountainous terrain of the Appalachian Mountain region. CAM participants may have learned this from some of the many Earthcaches across Maryland. Each municipality offers a glimpse into what makes Maryland so unique!

The list below is a small subset of Maryland’s municipalities:

  • Westernport
  • Crisfield
  • Annapolis
  • Denton
  • Queenstown
  • Snow Hill
  • St. Michaels
  • Cumberland
  • Hancock
  • Willards
  • University Park
  • Elkton
  • Princess Anne
  • Middletown
  • Frederick
  • Emmitsburg
  • Indian Head
  • La Plata
  • Easton
  • Rising Sun
  • Takoma Park
  • Rockville
  • Accident
  • Oakland
  • Vienna
  • Cambridge
  • Westminster
  • Grantsville
  • Henderson
  • Bel Air
  • Leonardtown
  • Upper Marlboro
  • Smithsburg
  • Centreville
  • Chestertown
  • Gaithersburg

To solve this puzzle, you will need some time (not hours, hopefully, but maybe a few minutes or perhaps several seconds). So, take a few chairs with your geo-friends at the CAM picnic (or elsewhere – maybe in one of the above municipalities?), reflect on the list together, and come up with a phrase. Enter that phrase with no spaces into the checker to reveal the actual coordinates.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
