Yorkshire hosted the first ever UK Mega on the Harrogate Stray with over five hundred attendees. Ten years later, we hosted the 10th anniversary at Newby Hall near Ripon. The event had well in excess of a thousand visitors. Everyone said it was a grand week out.
We are therefore extremely pleased to announce that the official UK Geocaching Mega will return to Yorkshire in August 2028 to celebrate its 20th anniversary at a venue that will be revealed later this year!
What better place than Harrogate, where it all began, to host our first meet the committee event?
The event will be held at The Devonshire Tap House, 10 Devonshire Place, Harrogate, HG1 4AA on Sunday 31st May 2026 14:00-16:00 where we have a room reserved. The venue serves drinks, pizzas and light bar snacks.
The venue does not have parking. Unrestricted on-street parking is available on many roads close to the venue, however this can be busy. Dragon Road pay and display car park is a 9 minute walk away. Harrogate railway station and bus station are both a 12 minute walk from the venue.
This will be a great opportunity to meet the team who will be working hard to make the Mega an unforgettable one. We'll be holding a raffle to raise funds, and we'll have some branded merchandise available to buy.
