This cache is placed 'in honour' of the lost guardian that disappeared from the figgy30 cache "Spike" placed along the nearby Lakeshore road gravel pathway. We don't know what the guardian was or how it disappeared. Was it stolen, muggled, eaten by a wild animal ? And we don't know what the guardian was - a railway spike? spikey golf shoe? Spike the Bulldog from Tom & Jerry cartoon, a dinosaur or dragon, or Snoopy's brother from Needles. Regardless it deserved a replacement.
Cache is located on a small trail from the main path that connects the Sproat Lake boat ramp parking lot to Bomber Base Road. Access is available at both ends. See waypoints. There is a trail sign near the start of the trail from boat ramp and another at Bomber Base road. About a 10 - 15 minutes walk. Final approach is a small side path off the main trail,just after the little aluminum bridge if coming from the parking lot end ; marked with orange flag tapes. Lots of ivy nearby GZ.
