The pub has a rich history dating back to the 18th century. The first landlord I can find was a Richard Scott being 1801-1850.
Over the years, the establishment has undergone various changes,,as has the village itself, which has almost doubled in size since the 1950's.
It was once used as the changing rooms for the local Football Team and in the 1960's and 70's had a thriving social scene.
It was run by the Childerly Family from 1893 until the late 1960's .
