Geocache Description:

Douglas Park railway station is located on the main southern line . It serves the town of Douglas Park and opening on 1 July 1863, with the opening of the Menangle to Picton railway extension. Douglas Park  station was originally a halt ,where trains would stop by signal only.

The station first appeared as Douglass Park in the Great Southern Railway timetable on 29 June 1863,  trains would only stop at the station if required. The station was renamed Douglas Park on 31 July 1891 and was relocated to its present site on 13 June 1892.

At Douglas Park railway station, the cool morning air and quiet platform have a way of mitigating the rush of daily life. Old stories seem to linger around the station buildings, as if the walls themselves could confess the memories of generations of travellers. Beyond the tracks, the thick bushland almost devours the sound of the departing trains, leaving the station wrapped once again in silence.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

Please remember to bring your own good writing pen/pencil/stamp and always return cache as found.

Please be aware there are houses nearby so it is suggested you do not attempt to collect this cache at night.
