The term Grease Monkey most commonly refers to a slang term for a mechanic, but it is also a well-known brand for automotive services and web development tools.

Slang and Origin

  • Definition: A slang term for a mechanic, particularly those working on automobiles or aircraft.

  • Origin: The term dates back to the early 20th century. It combines "grease" (from the oil and grime of the job) with "monkey," referring to the agility and dexterity needed to maneuver into tight engine spaces.

 

We all need a good grease monkey when it comes to our vehicles, right?  Or just ask the farmers who need the very BEST of the best to keep their equipment running!
