Geocache Description:

In the tiny town of Clicksburg, there appeared one morning a camera so unbelievably huge that people thought a new water tower had been installed overnight.



It sat in the middle of town square.



The lens alone was the size of a kiddie pool.



The flash unit required its own parking spot.



And hanging from the side was a camera strap so massive that three goats accidentally got tangled in it and had to be rescued by the volunteer fire department.



Nobody knew where it came from.



A small brass plate on the front simply read:



“MEGA-PIX 9000 — For REALLY Important Memories.”



Naturally, the mayor declared it a tourist attraction.



“People will come from miles around!” he announced proudly while standing on a ladder just to reach the shutter button.



The first problem came when someone tried taking a photo.



The camera flash was so bright it temporarily changed the town rooster’s sleep schedule. Gerald the rooster began crowing at 2:17 PM for three straight days.



Then there was the shutter sound.



KA-CHUNK.



Windows rattled.



Dogs barked.



A nearby flock of geese immediately relocated to another county.



But the biggest issue was the zoom feature.



One curious teenager turned the lens slightly too far while photographing squirrels in the park. The camera zoomed so aggressively that it accidentally photographed a sandwich in Delaware.



Soon the whole town became obsessed.



Families posed in front of it.



Teenagers used it as a meeting spot.



One local man tried renting the lens hood as an apartment.



The annual Clicksburg even held a contest called “Guess How Many Hamsters Could Fit Inside the Battery Compartment.”



The answer was apparently “way too many,” according to Animal Control.



Then came the disaster.



During the town picnic, someone leaned against the shutter button while holding a plate of baked beans.



The giant camera activated.



Its mechanical arm unfolded dramatically.



The lens extended three more feet.



The flash charged with an ominous humming sound.



And before anyone could react—



FWOOOOOMP.



It took the largest group photo in human history.



The resulting printed photograph rolled out of the side like a giant carpet and continued unfurling down Main Street, across the park, through the gas station, and halfway into the next town.



People were trapped beneath their own smiling faces for nearly an hour.



Oddly enough, it was a fantastic picture.



Every detail was perfectly clear.



You could see Aunt Linda blinking.


You could see a bee stealing lemonade.

You could even see Mayor Thompson accidentally dropping his hotdog moments before impact.

The photo won three county fair ribbons and was later used as a picnic blanket during softball season.

As for the giant camera, it still sits in Clicksburg today.

Nobody knows who built it.

Nobody knows how it works.

But every year, on the first Saturday of summer, the townspeople gather for one enormous photograph.

They call it:

“The Big Picture.”

As for this camera, it’s time for it to create it’s own story.
