Geocache Description:

Congratulations to lbelle182 for First to Find!

Cape Cod was inhabited by various Indian Tribes prior to European settelers arrival in Plimouth in 1620.  The Town of Sandwich was occupied by the Eastern Algonquin speaking, Wampanoag tribe, who assisted the Pilgrims of the Plimouth Colony during the early 1620s.

A group of settlers from Saugus Massachusetts colonized Sandwich in 1637 with the permission from the Plimouth Colony.  The Town was Incorporated in 1639 and named for the seaport of Sandwich, Kent in England.

The cache is located on the site of the Ancient Homestead of Thomas Tupper and his Wife Anne,  Thomas Tupper was one of the “Ten Men From Saugus” who founded the town.

The large stone with the bronze marker memorialize Thomas Tupper as the founders of the Tupper Family of America.  The cache itself is not located on or near the historic marker.  Come on out and enjoy a bit of cape Cod history while searching for this evil cache.
