As transport facilities such as railway stations are considered sensitive areas due to security concerns, I considered a local recommendation not to host the current Geocaching event at the station itself, as it could potentially create misunderstandings. Therefore, in accordance with the current Geocaching guidelines, I have moved the event to a nearby public area outside the station zone.
About the station nearby:
In 2005, a temporary passenger station was put into service, while construction of the permanent station only began in March 2008. The new station entered service on November 8th, 2009, and was officially inaugurated on September 28th, 2010. The Belval-Université station was designed as the main gateway to the new Belval district, transforming a former steel industry site into a university and innovation hub centered around the University of Luxembourg.
The station was designed by the architecture and design studio Jim Clemes. Its curved architecture is intended to resemble a caterpillar or a centipede in motion, and at night, thanks to its lighting, even a firefly. This concept reflected the architects’ desire to break away from the traditional straight-lined design commonly associated with railway stations. One of the station’s distinctive features is that the passenger building overlooks the platforms, giving the impression that it is floating above the tracks thanks to its dynamic structure. Measuring 120 meters in length, the building is supported by 16 columns and rises approximately 8.2 meters above the rails, serving simultaneously as a bridge, a multimodal platform, and a roof covering the platforms below. To create a bright and open atmosphere, the project incorporates large glass façades, horizontal window bands, and spacious interior areas, bringing transparency and fluidity to the overall design.
Belval-Université station handles an annual passenger traffic of around 1.46 million travelers, making it one of the busiest stations in the country and the second largest in the rail network. On a daily basis, approximately 20,000 users pass through this infrastructure.

Les infrastructures de transport telles que les gares ferroviaires étant considérées comme des zones sensibles pour des raisons de sécurité, j’ai suivi une recommandation locale de ne pas organiser le présent événement Géocaching à la gare-même, celui-ci pouvant potentiellement entraîner des malentendus. Par conséquent, conformément aux directives actuelles du Géocaching, j’ai déplacé l’événement vers un espace public situé à proximité, en dehors de la zone de la gare.

A propos de la gare située à proximité :
En 2005, une gare voyageurs temporaire est mise en service, la construction de la gare définitive ne débute qu'en mars 2008. La mise en service de celle-ci date du 8 novembre 2009 et son inauguration officielle du 28 septembre 2010. La gare Belval-Université a été conçue comme la principale porte d’entrée du nouveau quartier de Belval, transformant un ancien site sidérurgique en pôle universitaire et d’innovation autour de l’Université du Luxembourg.
La gare est l’œuvre de l'atelier d'architecture et de design Jim Clemes, son architecture tout en courbes est censée rappeler une chenille ou un mille-pattes en mouvement ou encore, de nuit, une luciole grâce à l'éclairage nocturne, et est issue de la volonté des architectes de rompre avec l'architecture classique et rectiligne des gares. L'une des particularités de la gare est que le bâtiment voyageurs surplombe les quais, elle semble flotter au-dessus des voies grâce à sa structure dynamique. Long de 120 mètres, le bâtiment, soutenu par 16 colonnes, s’élève à environ 8,2 mètres au-dessus des rails et fait office à la fois de pont, de plateforme multimodale et de toiture pour les quais. Afin de créer une atmosphère lumineuse et ouverte, le projet intègre de larges façades vitrées, des bandes de fenêtres horizontales et des espaces intérieurs dégagés, apportant transparence et fluidité à l’ensemble.
La gare de Belval-Université enregistre un transit annuel d’environ 1,46 million de voyageurs, ce qui en fait l'une des gares les plus fréquentées du pays et la deuxième plus grande du réseau. Au quotidien, ce sont environ 20.000 utilisateurs qui transitent par cette infrastructure.

Da Verkehrseinrichtungen wie Bahnhöfe aus Sicherheitsgründen als sensible Bereiche gelten, befolgte ich die lokale Empfehlung, das aktuelle Geocaching-Event nicht am Bahnhof direkt zu veranstalten, da dies möglicherweise zu Missverständnissen führen könnte. Daher habe ich das Event gemäß den aktuellen Geocaching-Richtlinien in einen nahegelegenen öffentlichen Bereich außerhalb des Bahnhofsareals verlegt.

Im Jahr 2005 wurde zunächst ein provisorischer Personenbahnhof in Betrieb genommen, während der Bau des endgültigen Bahnhofs erst im März 2008 begann. Die Inbetriebnahme des neuen Bahnhofs erfolgte am 8. November 2009, seine offizielle Einweihung am 28. September 2010. Der Bahnhof Belval-Université wurde als wichtigstes Eingangstor zum neuen Stadtviertel Belval konzipiert, das ein ehemaliges Stahlindustriegebiet in ein Universitäts- und Innovationszentrum rund um die Universität Luxemburg verwandelte.
Der Bahnhof ist ein Werk des Architektur- und Designbüros Jim Clemes. Seine geschwungene Architektur soll an eine sich bewegende Raupe oder einen Tausendfüßler erinnern und nachts – dank der Beleuchtung – sogar an ein Glühwürmchen. Dieses Konzept entstand aus dem Wunsch der Architekten, mit der klassischen geradlinigen Architektur traditioneller Bahnhöfe zu brechen. Eine Besonderheit des Bahnhofs besteht darin, dass das Empfangsgebäude über den Bahnsteigen schwebt und dank seiner dynamischen Konstruktion den Eindruck vermittelt, über den Gleisen zu schweben. Das 120 Meter lange Gebäude wird von 16 Säulen getragen und erhebt sich rund 8,2 Meter über den Schienen. Gleichzeitig dient es als Brücke, multimodale Plattform und Überdachung der darunterliegenden Bahnsteige. Um eine helle und offene Atmosphäre zu schaffen, integriert das Projekt große Glasfassaden, horizontale Fensterbänder sowie großzügige Innenräume, die dem gesamten Bauwerk Transparenz und fließende Leichtigkeit verleihen.
Der Bahnhof Belval-Université verzeichnet jährlich rund 1,46 Millionen Reisende und zählt damit zu den meistfrequentierten Bahnhöfen des Landes sowie zum zweitgrößten Bahnhof des Netzes. Täglich nutzen etwa 20.000 Menschen diese Infrastruktur.
