HBUSA started in 2018 with 204 geocaches published in Michigan. This year we hope to surpass 250 caches and events to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial! This is #43 in a series about the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Dr. Benjamin Rush physician, politician, social reformer, humanitarian, and educator signed the Declaration as a member of the Pennsylvania delegation. He was an enthusiastic supporter of independence. As an enlighternment thinker he opposed slavery, advocated free public schools, and sought improved (but patriarchal) education for women, and a more enlightened penal system.
