Captain Barnacle Pete began his grand geocaching voyage at a place sailors whispered about as Sea Dog’s Cache. According to local legend, an old sea captain had hidden clues there years ago after losing a card game to a dolphin with suspiciously good luck. Pete searched around the creaking bridge while dramatically sniffing the air for “the scent of treasure,” despite Kevin the parrot repeatedly reminding him that treasure does not, in fact, have a smell. After nearly falling into the water while attempting a heroic pose, Pete finally uncovered the first clue and proudly announced himself “the greatest sea dog to ever waggle a peg leg.”
