The trail then carried the pirates to an ancient woodland hideout known only as Captain Cachebeard. According to the faded clue notes, Cachebeard had once been the most feared geocacher on the coast, famous for hiding treasures so cleverly that he himself occasionally forgot where they were. Pete searched among tangled ivy and twisted branches while Kevin offered deeply unhelpful advice such as “Try looking where the thing probably is.” When the clue was finally uncovered, Pete stroked his beard proudly and claimed he and Captain Cachebeard were “basically colleagues.”
