The Eight-Legged Scallywag

Farther along the trail waited The Eight-Legged Scallywag, a name Kevin disliked immediately. “Anything with eight legs should mind its own business,” the parrot muttered while glaring suspiciously at every nearby branch. Pete, however, was delighted by the ridiculousness of the clue and spent most of the search making terrible spider impressions while creeping sideways through the undergrowth. The discovery of the tiny treasure filled him with joy, although Kevin pointed out that Pete had somehow managed to get tangled in ivy despite standing completely still for half the hunt.
