Across the Arctic, drifts the frozen sea,
Towering icebergs glide by, silent and free,
With cosmic glee dance bright northern lights,
White cubs learn life’s tricks in playful fights,
Then sun departs leaving endless nights.
Storm petrel fly free with albatross,
By night shine our stars, the Southern Cross
Seals run deep, below thick windswept ice,
Onward drive men, their mission concise,
Until they’ve won, or paid a dire price.
Each brave voyager, a hero risks life,
At home they pine, mother, sister, wife,
In late winter hours, exhausted souls,
Their worst fate ignored, they chase their goals,
While the sky, ever true, unites both poles.
