Dead Man’s Hedge

The twelfth stage of the hunt brought the pirates to a gloomy stretch of shrubbery ominously known as Dead Man’s Hedge. Even Kevin looked nervous upon hearing the name and immediately accused the hedge of “having bad intentions.” Pete attempted to maintain a brave pirate face while creeping alongside the tangled branches, though his confidence vanished slightly when his beard became caught in a thorn bush. Convinced he was under attack by cursed vegetation, Pete wrestled dramatically with the hedge for nearly a full minute before Kevin pointed out, he could simply step backwards. Hidden nearby was another clue, along with what Pete described as “the unsettling scent of haunted gardening.”
