Captain Barnacle Pete to the Rescue
Operation: Rescue Kevin

Captain Barnacle Pete’s peaceful afternoon was interrupted by panicked squawking from high above. Looking up, he spotted Kevin the parrot stuck near the top of a giant oak tree. “Help me, ye useless beard with legs!” Kevin yelled while clinging nervously to a branch swaying in the wind. Pete puffed out his chest proudly and declared, “Fear not, feathered matey! I shall perform a daring pirate rescue!”
Unfortunately, Pete’s rescue plan involved an extremely long branch he’d found nearby, which he proudly called “the Official Pirate Rescue Pole.” Waving it around wildly, he spent several minutes poking leaves, shaking branches, and accidentally smacking himself in the hat while Kevin laughed so hard he nearly fell out of the tree himself. “Excellent rescuing, Captain,” the parrot wheezed between cackles.
Determined not to be defeated by a tree, Pete carefully hooked the long branch beneath Kevin’s perch and gently lowered him down toward safety. Halfway down, however, Pete lost his footing and both pirate and parrot tumbled backwards into a bush in a storm of feathers and leaves.
Covered in twigs and wounded dignity, Captain Barnacle Pete staggered from the bush and raised a triumphant fist. “Another flawless rescue mission!” he declared proudly. Kevin spat out a leaf, shook his feathers, and muttered, “Next time I’m staying stuck.”
