Rozēnu tilts

Rozēnu tilts ir funkcionāls dzelzsbetona autotransporta tilts pār Salacas upi, kas atrodas Limbažu novada Staiceles pagastā. Tas izvietots vēsturiskajā Rozēnu ciema teritorijā, aptuveni 8 kilometrus lejpus Staiceles pilsētas, reģionālā autoceļa P15 (Ainaži–Matīši) tiešā tuvumā. Šis objekts ir plaši pazīstams kā nozīmīgs ūdenstūrisma un dabas atpūtas mezgls Vidzemē.

🏞️ Ģeogrāfiskais novietojums un upes raksturs

Tilts kalpo kā krāšņs un tehnisks atskaites punkts laivotājiem, jo tieši šeit Salaca krasi maina savu raksturu:

• Mierīgais posms: No Mazsalacas un Staiceles līdz pat Rozēnu tiltam upe plūst salīdzinoši lēni un rāmi. Šis 11 kilometrus garais posms no Staiceles ir ideāli piemērots nesteidzīgām vienas dienas laivu brīvdienām ģimenes lokā.
• Sportiskais pagrieziens: Uzreiz aiz Rozēnu tilta upe veic asu pagriezienu par teju 90 grādiem. Šeit tās gultnes kritums ievērojami palielinās (līdz aptuveni 1 metram uz kilometru). Straume kļūst dinamiskāka, parādās akmeņainas krāces (it īpaši tuvojoties Mērniekiem) un doņu saliņas.

⛺ Tūrisma infrastruktūra un apkārtne

Rozēnu tilta apkārtne ir labi piemērota ceļotājiem un upes baudītājiem:

• Labiekārtota atpūtas vieta: Tieši pie paša tilta ir izveidota atpūtas vieta „Rozēnu tilts”, kur izvietoti āra galdi un ir neliela, mājīga zaļā zona vienas vai divu telšu uzcelšanai pie pašas upes malas.
• Kempingi un apmetnes: Ūdenstūristu ērtībām upes kreisajā krastā ir pieejama labiekārtotā apmetne „Liepkalni”. Tāpat netālu atrodas atpūtas vieta „Ķekari”, kas ir viegli sasniedzama un piemērota gan laivotājiem, gan velo- un autotūristiem.
• Dabas un vēstures objekti: Netālu plūst Salacas pieteka Glāžupe (Līvupe), kuras krastos apskatāmas Lejasdzirnavu drupas, dzirnavu ezeri un gleznaini smilšakmens atsegumi. Turpinot ceļu tālāk uz leju pa Salacu, sākas iespaidīgāko klinšu posmi.
• Slēpņotājiem: Aktīvās atpūtas cienītājus šeit gaida arī ģeoslēpnis (Geocache) — PET sagatave, kurā atrodas viesugrāmata un zīmulis.

Rozēni Bridge

Rozēni Bridge is a functional reinforced concrete road bridge over the Salaca River, located in Staicele Parish, Limbaži Municipality. It sits within the historical territory of Rozēni village, approximately 8 kilometers downstream from the town of Staicele, right next to the regional highway P15 (Ainaži–Matīši). This location is widely recognized as an important water tourism and nature recreation hub in the Vidzeme region.

🏞️ Geographical Location and River Character

The bridge serves as a scenic and technical landmark for paddlers, as the Salaca River changes its character dramatically right here:

• The Calm Section: From Mazsalaca and Staicele down to the Rozēni Bridge, the river flows relatively slowly and peacefully. This 11-kilometer section from Staicele is ideal for a leisurely, one-day family boating trip.
• The Action Turn: Immediately past the Rozēni Bridge, the river makes a sharp, nearly 90-degree turn. Here, the riverbed gradient increases significantly (to about 1 meter per kilometer). The current becomes more dynamic, with rocky rapids appearing (especially moving towards Mērnieki) along with small reed islands.

⛺ Tourism Infrastructure and Surroundings

The area around the Rozēni Bridge is well-suited for travelers and river enthusiasts:

• Developed Rest Area: Right by the bridge, there is a designated rest area called "Rozēnu tilts" featuring outdoor tables and a small, cozy green lawn for pitching one or two tents right by the water's edge.
• Campsites and Lodging: For the convenience of water tourists, the well-equipped "Liepkalni" campsite is available on the left bank of the river. The nearby "Ķekari" rest area is also easily accessible and perfect for paddlers, cyclists, and motorists alike.
• Natural and Historical Sites: The Glāžupe (Līvupe) River, a tributary of the Salaca, flows nearby. Its banks feature the ruins of the Lejasdzirnavas mill, mill ponds, and picturesque sandstone outcrops. Continuing further down the Salaca, the river's most impressive cliff sections begin.
• For Geocachers: Outdoor enthusiasts will find a geocache hidden here—a PET preform container holding a logbook and a pencil.
