Geocache Description:

The tenth of a series of challenge caches on Joeys Island. Joeys island is a small tidal island in Bluff Harbour/ Awarua Bay. It is covered in flax or scrub. All of the caches are large so you should not have that much trouble finding them once you get to GZ. There are no issues getting to it a couple of hours either side of low tide. At low tide you can get across without getting your feet wet. At high tide it is a different matter. Park at the bridge walk the three km to the island. I camped  on the island once when I was in my teens a night was enough. There are not many visitors to the island . DOC visits to check the trap line . You can see the quad bike tracks on the beach. Without the challenge aspect this cache would be about a 1.5/3 rating.

The walk to the island is exposed to the weather so pick a good day. If you do not qualify for the other challenge caches I suggest you sign the logs and claim them when you do.

The cache is not on Joey's Island but  it is adviseable to go at low tide unless to want to do a lot of wading. the area close to GZ is a bit muddy.

The cache is all about ONE.

In order to qualify for this cache you need to have 1111 caches in two types of caches, 111 in another two types, 11 in another four types and 1 in another four types.

Please use the checker that the Seagnoid has kindly provided to check if you qualify.
