Wyndham City Council spends around $400,000 per year to address property damage caused by graffiti. On Saturday 10 December 2016 a designated legal graffiti wall was launched to help reduce this issue and to create a space where the public can make art.
The floodway between the dog park and Presidents Park on Heaths Road in Werribee is now available for the public to use as a legal graffiti area. A person under the age of 18 cannot be sold an aerosol spray can under the Graffiti Prevention Act 2007, so parents and carers will need to support their children if they choose to use spray cans at the floodway.
Police expect the rules to be followed and ask that people continue to respect the area while welcoming everyone who wants to use the space for its intended purpose.
