Mount Calvary Cemetery in Brooklyn Park (Anne Arundel County, MD) is a significant historic African-American burial ground. It contains the graves of nearly 2,000 individuals, including founding pastors, social leaders, and politicians from northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City.
I have a thing for cemeteries. I find wandering around a cemetery to be a peaceful, calming experience. I discovered this cemetery, Mount Calvary Cemetery, last fall when the new construction was going up. I have tried to find as much information as I could, but unfortuatey there is not much online other than the first two sentences. There are several requests on Find a Grave for pictures of headstones that I am working on now.
The cache is not located inside the cemetery - located in the parking area just outside. I would encourage you to park and walk the cemetery.
