Come and join us for a fantastic weekend of geocaching fun on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula!
Today's event is a mid-morning gathering on the outskirts of Minlaton along Gum Flat Road. A little local history Gum Flat was the original European name for the township of Minlaton.
We'll have a selection of snacks available for everyone to enjoy, but please BYO drinks. There is a fair bit of seating at the location, but if required I would recommend bringing along a camp chair.
Throughout the event there will be a gadget cache trail, games, activities, and plenty of opportunities to win prizes and giveaways.
As an added bonus, every event you attend throughout the weekend will earn you one entry into our weekend raffle. Attend multiple events and you'll receive multiple entries, increasing your chances of winning! The raffle will be drawn during the final event on Sunday but you do not have to be in attendance to win the prize.

YORKE PENINSULA CACHING HISTORY
The first caches placed on the Yorke Peninsula happened on 19/11/2001 & they were Yarrabee Park (GC2909) & Gulf-View (GC290B) both by Team Piggy. These were both on the Upper Yorke Peninsula near Kulpara. The next ones after that were Yorke's First (GC3637) placed by Sam and Jedda & as well as She'll Be Right! (GC3608) placed by Liz and Bruce. These were both placed on a few months later on 27/01/2002 and were both placed on the southern end of Yorke Peninsula. The First Multi cache that appeared was placed a day later by Liz and Bruce called Butlers Revenge (GC360A). Unfortunately it has since been archived. An early Event was held just north of Paskeville called SA-Geocachers Summer BBQ. (GC937B) It was attended by 20 teams and held on 1/12/2002. In 2003 we had a Virtual Cache placed in Moonta called Moonta's Himalayas (GCH9FY) by The Rats and is still available now. The First Puzzle/Unknown cache was Brentwood"a" Triangle Complete (GCPP8W) by voogoofish in 2005. An Earth cache was added to the peninsula by Team Crackers in 2009. It was called A Blast From the Past (GC1T7NE). It wasn't until 2012 before the Yorke Peninsula got it's first Letterbox Hybrid with YP Mail (GC3QFEN) placed by me (Dazzzatron). The YP has also been host to the SA's longest running yearly event known as the June LWE Event 3 times firstly being held in Maitland in 2009 then in Kadina in 2011 and finally in Edithburgh in 2017. As you can see there is a lot of geocaching history here on the Yorke Peninsula so get out and EXPLORE THE YORKE.
