Geocache Description:

Clean with a View VII: Ricketts Point

8.30-9.30

Saturday 29th August

Bring your hat, water and gloves

(Maybe a warm coat, beanie and warm gloves as well)

Protecting a special place, one bag at a time.

For Clean with a View VII, we’re heading to one of Port Phillip Bay’s most treasured coastal environments – Ricketts Point.

More than just a beautiful place to visit, Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary is home to seagrass meadows, rocky reefs, colourful marine life and many species of birds. Every piece of litter removed, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant,  from the shoreline helps protect this unique marine sanctuary and the wildlife that calls it home.

Join us for another relaxed Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event as we spend an hour cleaning approximately 500 metres of the foreshore and surrounding reserve. Together we can help keep this special corner of the bay looking its best for visitors, geocachers and the incredible marine life just offshore.

Rubbish bags will be provided.

Please bring your own gloves and pickup tools, along with a water bottlehatsunscreen, (possibly raincoat and beanie) and sturdy footwear suitable for walking along coastal paths.

Whether you’re a seasoned CITO volunteer or attending your very first event, everyone is welcome. Every piece of rubbish collected makes a difference.

Once we’ve finished, we’ll head just a short distance to our follow-up social event, Grill with a View VII: Ricketts Point After Party: Did someone say Dimmies?

Let’s help keep this remarkable marine sanctuary thriving

Location: Ricketts Point
Date: Saturday, 29 August
Time: 8.30-9.30am

We will be focussing on the area city side of the Ricketts Point Kiosk.

A cleaner coastline today helps protect tomorrow’s marine life.
