წმინდა ნინოს ახალი საკათედრო ტაძარი
წმ. ნინოს სახელობის საკათედრო ტაძრის მშენებლობა საქართველოს კათოლიკოსპატრიარქის ილია II-ის ლოცვა-კურთხევით 2009 წელს დაიწყო, დასრულდა 2019 წელს. ტაძრის არიქიტექტორია თ. ბერიძე, მხატვარი მ. მიქელაძე, მოზაიკოსი ა. ბაკურაძე. ტაძარი მოპირკეთებულია შირიმის ქვითა და ნიჩბისის ტუფით, გადახურულია ლორფინით. იატაკზე დაგებულია ირანიდან სპეციალურად ჩამოტანილი ონიქსის ქვა. კანკელი, ასევე, ონიქსისგანაა გამოკვეთილი. კანკელის ხატები მ. მიქელაძის დახატულია, პერანგის ავტორია დ. კაკაბაძე. საკურთხეველის კედლები და აფსიდა მოზაიკითაა დაფარული. ამჟამად მოზაიკა გუმბათში კეთდება.

Գտեք մի հատված, որտեղ քարը ցույց է տալիս մակերեսային փոփոխություններ (մգացում, փոքր խոռոչներ, ճաքեր կամ էրոզիա)։
Ի՞նչ ապացույցներ կարող եք նկատել եղանակային ազդեցության (մետեորիզացիայի) վերաբերյալ։

New Cathedral of Saint Nino
The construction of the Cathedral of Saint Nina began in 2009 with the blessing and prayers of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, and was completed in 2019. The architect of the cathedral is Temur. Beridze; the painter, Mamuka. Mikeladze; and the mosaic artist, Amiran. Bakuradze.
The church is faced with limestone and Nichbisi tuff and roofed with Lori stone. The floor is laid with onyx stone specially imported from Iran, and the iconostasis is likewise carved from onyx. The icons on the iconostasis were painted by M. Mikeladze, and the ornamentation was designed by D. Kakabadze. The walls and apse of the sanctuary (altar) are covered with mosaics, and at present, mosaic work is being carried out in the dome.
Question 1 – Observation of the Main Rock
Examine the light-colored stone blocks that form the exterior walls of the cathedral.
What characteristics does the rock have (color, grain size, and presence of pores or cavities)?
Question 2 – Comparison of Materials
Observe the carved decorative elements and compare them with the large blocks of the walls.
Do you notice differences in texture, color, or degree of porosity between the two materials?
Question 3 – Weathering and Preservation
Look for an area where the stone shows surface alteration (darkening, small cavities, fissures, or erosion).
What evidence of weathering can you identify?
Question 4 - Take a photo of yourself with a personal item against one of the rock walls and add it to your log!
