America's 250th Independence Celebration!
Let's enjoy a kayak paddle, fellowship and search some high terrain geocaches.
We may be sharing this time with some of our Canadian friends, let's give them a warm welcome.
Standard Meet and Greet with river float to follow. Meet and Greet Event Logbook open until we hit the river. You don't have to kayak or go down the river to attend the event. I do highly recommend. Leave a comment if you are in need of a kayak and perhaps a fellow geocacher has an extra!

After event details below:
Staging: 9am-10am
Kayak staging between locations is 2.5 miles. 5 minute drive (10 minute round trip shuttle time). You should expect around 8 miles of paddling. There should be plenty of vehicles available to help transport kayaks or stage vehicles before and after event.
** After you drop your kayak(s) off at the start, only vehicle drivers head to the take out(saves on shuttle space) and you will get shuttled back to the starting point. Also, please stack vehicles when parking at the take out to allow more space to the general public **

Rules and Regulations:
Ohio boating laws
Ohio requires complying with specific Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) rules. You must register your kayak, carry a wearable US Coast Guard-approved life jacket for everyone, carry a whistle, and display a bright white light if paddling after sunset.
**We will have new unused spare whistles for those in need to keep**
Out-of-State Visitors: Out-of-state visitors can use their kayak in Ohio for up to 60 days without registering it. You must carry your home state's registration card or proof of residency onboard.
Life Jackets (PFDs) (REQUIRED)
• Onboard: You must have at least one US Coast Guard-approved Wearable Personal Flotation Device (PFD) for every person in the kayak.
