Puzzle-solving Sunday Morning Late-June Mind Meld!
2026 is the 250th anniversary of US independence in 1776 so that's the theme for this year. It's the weekend between my two weeks working at Girl Scout day camp and I need an event. And there are always puzzles to solve :) And because of GS camp, I couldn't make it to CacheMore in WV this weekend. If you're also not at CacheMore or if you left early, here you go.
We're back at Old Town Coffee in Herndon today, for a long one (more than an hour!). No hubby today unless something changes - he'll be Tai Chi-ing. This should be well before the ice cream rush - ice cream side isn't supposed to open until 11 - so hopefully we'll get the inside tables.
Focus: geocaching puzzles (including field puzzles) about creative media: books, movies, comics, poems, art, music, etc. Interpret that as you wish. You can bring other types too, but plan is to deal with at least one of the targeted type first. Bring puzzlers that stump you or that you're itching to share, and with any luck a geo-mind meld will get you somewhere. Bring your tablet/Chromebook/laptop if you like or if it might help, plus any relevant printouts. As you think of specific puzzles you'd like to go over, post their names and GC#s in your Will Attend log so other folks can check them out before the event.
Out-of-towners welcome, especially if you need help on a local puzzle or want to share one from your home or travels. We're very friendly and like to be helpful.
Mini-cachers, family, friends, the caching-curious, the caching-retired, visiting geocachers, and friendly muggles all welcome. Drop by when it's convenient; you don't have to be there for the duration. Eat/drink/don't, your call. No purchase necessary but BYO$ for anything you do want and please don't bring outside food/drinks.
Location is a shared space for Old Town Coffee & Moo Thru Ice Cream. Verbal permission from very friendly coffee-side manager Frank.
Coffee place has various drinks including tea and some light food items and is open early morning through mid-late afternoon. Ice cream side will NOT be open yet.
Plenty of free parking in front or on the side. There's a ramp on the side of the building, although folks with mobility issues will need a buddy to get the door open.
