Liigalaskma - üks kena küla Saaremaal. Huvitav lugu ajaloost on järgmine. Tsaariaja lõpul hakkas Kaarma dolomiidiga võistlema Tagavere kivi. Siin tehti esimesed katsed dolomiidi töötlemise mehhaniseerimiseks. Tagaveres Udressoo juures käsitsi murtud lubjakivi veeti hobustega Liigalaskma külas Sääre talu maadel asunud kivitöökotta. Selle asutas 1905. aastal keegi juudi soost ettevõtja Petzold. Dolomiidiplokid saeti ja hööveldati põhiliselt trepiastmeteks, mis samast sügava Sääre sadama kaudu välja veeti. 1909. a. oli töökojas ametis 10 töölist. Tagavere dolomiidiga on kaetud endise Geoloogia Komitee hoone seinad Leningradis. I maailmasõja ajal töökoja tegevus soikus. 1915. a. 27. mai ajalehes «Hääl» teatati, et töödeldakse veel ainult eelmisel aastal murtud kivi. Omanikust jäi töökoja platsile ja lattu hulgaliselt valmistoodangut, mis hiljem Saikla veski taastamisel ja Taaliku sadamas paiknenud lao ehitusel ära kasutati.

Liigalaskma - a nice village in Saaremaa. An interesting story from history is the following. At the end of the Tsarist era, Tagavere stone began to compete with Kaarma dolomite. The first attempts to mechanize dolomite processing were made here. Limestone broken by hand near Udressoo in Tagavere was transported by horses to the stone workshop located on the lands of the Sääre farm in the village of Liigalaskma. It was founded in 1905 by a Jewish entrepreneur, Petzold. Dolomite blocks were sawn and planed mainly into stair steps, which were transported from the same deep Sääre harbor. In 1909, the workshop employed 10 workers. The walls of the former Geological Committee building in Leningrad are covered with Tagavere dolomite. During World War I, the workshop's activities came to a standstill. On May 27, 1915, the newspaper "Saarte Hääl" reported that only the stone broken the previous year was still being processed. The owner left a lot of finished products on the workshop site and in the warehouse, which were later used in the restoration of the Saikla mill and the construction of the warehouse located in the Taaliku harbor.
