Geocache Description:

Although our family is not Hungarian, my mother often prepared several authentic Hungarian dishes. She learned these delicious recipes from Hungarian neighbours in our small farming community. I distinctly remember 4 favourites:  Goulash, Chicken Paprikash, Nokedli and Dobos Torte. The latter was often a staple for birthday celebrations! This story is dedicated to those neighbours and our geo-caching friends, Twisted Sisters, whose recently hidden caches brought these memories back to life. Leave us a note if you have tried any of these tasty dishes.

Once upon a time, in the rolling hills near Budapest, a group of friends set out on a geocaching adventure to find the legendary Gulyasleves cache. To unlock the final co-ordinates, they needed to gather the secret recipe ingredients, spoken only in Hungarian numbers.

Egy (one) large onion was the first clue, hidden beneath an old oak tree. Next, they found kétto (two) carrots buried under a pile of leaves. Not far from there, három (three) cloves of garlic were tucked inside a hollow log. Farther along the path, they discovered négy (four) potatoes marked with a bright ribbon. Their journey led them across a small stream, where they uncovered öt (five) pieces of beef, perfectly wrapped and cool. The sixth cache, hat (six) teaspoons of paprika, was cleverly hidden inside a tin can near a fence post. Then, near the finish, hét (seven) cups of water awated them inside a weathered kettle.

Finally, by combining all these treasures - egy onion, kétto carrots, három garlic cloves, négy potatoes, öt pieces of beef, hat teaspoons of paprika, and hét cups of water -- the friends prepared the authentic Hungarian Gulyasleves, their reward for solving the mystery using Hungarian numbers.  It was a meal to remember, full of adventure and flavour!
