Since 2010, the San Diego Geocachers and FlagMan have been hosting the "(Not-so) Annual M*A*S*H Awards." The last time HoF Awards were handed out at one of these was on July 17, 2023, at FlagMan's Maker Magic Event. The purpose of the previous HoF Awards Banquets was twofold.
1) to honor those ~140 individual qualifiers who have qualified for ~602 medals, certificates and poker chip coins under the 38-Hall of Fame caches on this linked BM List which, combined, includes approximately 7,000 caches in San Diego County.
2) on several occasions we combined this with Maker Madness to thank all our Makers, Builders, and Hiders for those caches that make us say, "WOW!!!
It seems very appropriate to incorporate this event in"Signal's Island Goes M*A*S*H" and to expand the scope of the awards beyond San Diego County. There will be certificates and tokens for all who have qualified under the 38-Hall-of-Fame caches since the last awards, and also certificates and medals for all who have qualified for the Signal’s Island Goes M*A*S*H Awards listed below since January 1, 2026. *To submit a nomination, please message gsmX2 via the GCHQ Message Service. Include the Award to be considered, the cacher's name, the GC Code, and, as appropriate, a description of why the person should be considered. Our crack team of judges will review the entries and present the awards.
The Award Ceremonies will commence at 1800 hours (6:00 pm)

Hider Awards:
Cammo Commander: Hiding a tricky geocache with at least 20% DNFs, even though it's there.
Fabulous FAVs: Has set a geocache that has received more than 66% FAV points
Finder Awards:
Sergeant Smilie: Found 1,000 geocaches (AL locations DO NOT count)
FTF Master: Most First-to-Finds during 2026
Well-rounded Finder: Found at least eight of these cache types in one day: Traditional, Multi-Cache, Mystery, Earthcache, Letterbox Hybrid, Event Cache, CITO Event, Mega-event (not including Signal’s Island), Wherigo, Adventure Lab, GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit
Miscellaneous Awards:
Yowie Owie Award: Any geocacher who sustained an injury while geocaching that required medical treatment beyond First Aid.
Traveling Wilburys Award: Awarded to the three unrelated geocaching accounts that traveled the furthest to attend Signal's Island Goes M*A*S*H.
Master Ambassador*: For a geocacher who is an extraordinary ambassador to the community by performing outstanding service by doing such things as helping others with maintenance, providing puzzle hints, replacement in logs, or mentoring others
Klinger Award*: Best geocaching outfit
CASC Awards:
Colonel Completed: Blacked out all 51 caches
Fabulous FAV: Set a CASC 2026 cache with more than 66% FAV Points
