Darenth Country Park war memorial
The Darenth Country Park War Memorial, originally honouring staff from the former Darenth Park Hospital who fell in WWI and WWII, is a squat stone obelisk featuring a wreath and cross above the inscription. It is located within the historic Darenth Park Cemetery. There are 11 names from the First World War and two from the Second World War.
Unveiled on December 16, 1927, by General Fell. The adjacent hospital, which was used for psychiatric patients, closed in 1988 and was demolished in 1995, leaving the cemetery and memorial as a preserved historical site maintained by Dartford Borough Council.
