US 🇺🇸 250 🇬🇧 UK - Mayflower 1620, London Event Cache

Welcome to the geocaching event on the decking of the Mayflower. This is the final of the series events celebrating 250 years of the US

Before the host sails to America all are invited to the Mayflower pub for a geocaching event. Join fellow cachers on the decks at the rear of this historic pub where the pilgrims left for the New World in 1620. Drinks and snacks are available (book a table if you wish to dine). 

The Pilgrims were a group of religious people known as Separatists and Puritans looking for a place where they could freely worship without being persecuted. Europe at the time was hostile place for such people, the New World was an attraction. Together they signed a contract with sponsors and a shipping agent to be sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. 
The Pilgrims arrived short of their destination due to a number of setbacks. They settled down what is now known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. The writing was on the wall from the onset for independence, with people known as Separatists and Puritans. 156 years later the declaration for independence was declared. The rest is history.
