Tucked into a quiet corner of the neighborhood, this short out-and-back follows a stream that just got a facelift. A recent restoration project reshaped this waterway with log vanes, rock cross-vanes, and toe wood structures — all designed to stabilize the banks and give the stream a more natural flow. Keep an eye out as you walk; you can still see where the new bank work meets the older streambed.
It's an easy, family-friendly walk, but don't let the short distance fool you — there are some surprisingly zen views for a trail hidden away behind backyards. Fair warning: despite several attempts, I've never actually found where this trail connects through to Beechwood Park itself. If you figure it out, let me know!
