On the 8th September 1966, Star Trek debuted for the first time on US television with “The Man Trap,” the pilot episode of what is now know as Star Trek: The Original Series.
On that day, Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry introduced us to a world that championed diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and hope, and sixty years later, we celebrate the diamond anniversary and the franchise’s enduring legacy.
There are several ways you could celebrate;
- Watch the original Star Trek pilot
- Host a Star Trek Marathon with your friends and family
- Dress up in your favorite Star Trek character
- Learn Klingon (the official Star Trek language)
- Find a Star Trek convention and attend
- Introduce Star Trek to your next generation
- Post your Star Trek moments on social media and tag #StarTrekDay
- Host a Star Trek Day Geocaching Event 😉
However, if you fancy a break from your viewing marathon and parties, and want to help me celebrate, then set your phasers to stun and beam down to this event, our use the sentient archway to travel back in time to our first (GCABVYM) or second (GCAV0GZ) events, the choice is yours!
Please note that this is an outdoor event, where there will be lots of caching talk, an event log to sign and a themed container for TBs, however, unfortunately due to the event's location it is unsuitable for large trackables (anything that will not fit into a tight lycra uniform pocket)!
